Cycling Holiday: Hoi An to Hue 5 Days

Upon arrival at DAD Airport, we have arranged a guide and transportation with a driver to take you to the historic Old Quarter of Hoi An, which is about a 1.5-hour drive. You will check into a 4-star resort and have the rest of the day free to explore the charming and beautiful heritage site of Hoi An, one of the top destinations in the Vietnam. Overnight in Hoi An!

Starting from your resort, you will take a short cycle ride out of the city and cover approximately 35 km (21.7 miles) of quiet paths and country roads. This will give you an up-close look at daily life in the Hoi An countryside. You will then visit the My Son Ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by thick jungle. Overnight in Hoi An!

Hoi An was a thriving international trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries, and the historic, merchant town still retains its charm today, with many well-preserved old buildings. This morning, we will take a walking tour through the historic heart of this World Heritage Site, visiting the famous Japanese Bridge and the city's museum, as well as wandering through the traditional wooden houses and Chinese temples. In the afternoon, you will have the chance to try your hand at Vietnamese cooking, take a gentle boat ride, or explore further by bike. Overnight in Hoi An.

After breakfast, we will travel by bus to Danang and then drive up to the Hai Van (Sea Cloud) Pass, which offers stunning panoramic views. Descending from the pass, we will start our cycling ride along scenic back roads alongside the Cau Hai Lagoon, ending at Phu Bai. From there, we will take a bus to Hue, the former capital of Vietnam, located on the banks of the Perfume River. Overnight in Hue.

This morning, we will cycle to the impressive Old Citadel that dominates the left bank of the Perfume River. After visiting the citadel, we will continue our cycling tour, following the Perfume River and visiting the 19th-century Nguyen Tomb of Ming Mang. In the afternoon, we will board an overnight train to Hanoi, where we will stay in 'soft-sleeper' four-berth cabins. The total cycling distance today is approximately 25 km, and we will finish around 13h pm at the hotel.
