Wonderful Cycling Across Vietnam Roadbike Adventures 15 Days

You will be picked up, fitted with your bike, then enjoy dinner and overnight at the 4 star hotel.

Explanation:

• Please ensure your arrival flight is scheduled for the morning. The leader will meet our local team at the fitting location around 3:00 PM (local Vietnamese timezone), where we will work together to prepare all the road bikes for our travelers.
• All road bikes must be ready by 4:00 PM, when all participants will move from the hotel to the fitting location to double-check their bikes before our team packs everything into the truck.
• After this, the group will return to the hotel to rest, take a shower, and prepare for a walk to dinner. Our travelers should wear comfortable clothing to facilitate an easy walk and to better enjoy the food in a relaxed manner.

This morning, we will take a van transfer from Hanoi to Luong Son. We will start cycling for 40 kilometers to Cho Ben along the Ho Chi Minh Trail highway. Then, we will turn onto a quieter road that takes us through scenic rice fields, Karst mountain landscapes, and views of Ba Khan Lake. We’ll warm up our legs with a challenging climb to Mai Chau, where we will enjoy a pleasant stay. Overnight accommodations will be at Mai Chau Lodge.

After breakfast, we will ride to Pu Luong and then continue on an off-road adventure to Kho Muong, with no support vehicle on standby, making this a day to remember. We will conclude the day with a breathtaking descent on a winding road into Kho Muong village.

Following lunch, you’ll cycle through a mix of uphill and downhill terrain, then descend from Pho Doan to Ngoc Lac, where you'll witness some of the most stunning terraced rice fields in Vietnam. We will wrap up the day with a transfer to our overnight stay at LAMORI Resort & Spa.

Today features up to 70 kilometers of riding over two stages. We will kick off our journey by witnessing the sunrise from our saddles as we head towards Nghia Dan for the first stage. We’ll take our time during the leisurely ride to Tan Ky, the historical starting point of the Ho Chi Minh Trail from wartime. This area served as a crucial junction in the supply line during the war, and American aircraft heavily bombarded it in repeated attempts to destroy this vital link.

From there, we will continue to Tri Le and begin a longer ride to Pho Chau. We’ll break the distance into manageable segments, allowing for restful recovery stops along the way. Our overnight accommodation will be at the Meliá Vinpearl Cua Hoi Beach Resort.

We will travel by van uphill for approximately one hour to Khe Ve Junction. This renowned intersection of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and Road No. 12 connects east and west with the Truong Son mountain range. Khe Ve, Ca Tang, and Khe Nung experienced intense bombing by the US Air Force from 1965 to 1973. The Front Command of the Truong Son Troop Headquarters was located in Hoa Tien Commune in 1965, just 3 kilometers south of Khe Ve. This area served as a crucial starting point for the petroleum pipeline, communication lines, and liaison routes during wartime.

Afterward, we’ll embark on a fast 25-kilometer stage to Pheo, followed by a 20- kilometer ride to Da Deo Mountain Pass. Finally, we will cross over the Truong Son mountain range and enjoy a thrilling descent into Khe Gat, a former airbase, where we will have a picnic lunch break. During the afternoon, we will cycle to the Xuan Son Bridge (noting that the Xuan Son ferry was heavily bombed from 196 to 1973). We will continue on to Phong Nha town, where we’ll spend the night at Phong Nha Lake House Resort.

We have a flat to undulating day ahead, beginning with a quiet ride inland on country roads for 24 kilometers through a scenic pine forest and eucalyptus plantations that were established after the war. After lunch, we’ll embark on a fast stretch along a smooth 11-kilometer route to Ben Tat Bridge, the old suspension bridge over the Ben Hai River, located at the 17th parallel. Along the way, we will pass by the Truong Son National Cemetery, which honors over 10,300 martyrs, mostly soldiers from Corp. 559. 

Next, we’ll enjoy a fast 20-kilometer stage to Cam Lo. From there, we will turn onto Highway 9 and ride for 15 kilometers to Dong Ha. Our van will then pick us up for a transfer of approximately 1.5 hours to Hue. If time permits, we can visit the ancient Phuoc Tich village before cycling along the beautiful Tam Giang Lagoon to Hue.

We begin our cycling journey with a visit to the Hue Citadel before continuing outside the city on a quiet country road for 30 kilometers. The first stages will be fast as we ride over Phuoc Tuong Pass (4 km with an elevation gain of 60 meters), then we’ll venture off the highway to Lang Co Beach. We’ll take a lunch break at Lang Co Beach before starting the afternoon with a 10-kilometer ride up the stunning Hai Van Pass. We’ll climb to the summit at 496 meters, followed by an exciting 10-kilometer descent to Nam O Beach.

From Nam O Beach, we’ll enjoy a 50-kilometer touring stage to Hoi An, passing through Da Nang City along the way. In Hoi An, we’ll have a farewell dinner and then take a leisurely night walk around the ancient town. Our overnight accommodation will be at Vinh Hung Resort.

You can explore the town’s attractions at your own pace, including centuries-old homes influenced by Chinese, Japanese, French, and European architecture. Points of interest include the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, the Phuc Kien Assembly Halls, and the local fish market. You can also relax by the swimming pool, soak up the sun, or indulge in a rejuvenating spa treatment.

We begin our cycling adventure in Hoi An, riding through the charming Cam Kim village, where a network of natural creeks and quaint canals invites exploration. Various bridges (300 meters) sturdy tarmac roads — provide a thrilling experience as each one leads to new discoveries.

After leaving the island behind, we transition to the mainland, where serene country roads lined with sugarcane fields come into view, showcasing farmers plowing alongside water buffalo. As we cross the Truong Giang River into Duy Nghia Village, traditional thatched houses and bamboo bridges add to the area's tranquility.

After enjoying a local lunch, we will cycle along peaceful coastal paths, discovering pristine beaches and fishing villages, ultimately reaching the beautiful Tam Thanh Beach. The day will conclude with a visit to My Lai village, followed by a transfer back to our resort in Quang Ngai, where we will spend the night at Cocoland Riverfront Resort.

Enjoy a morning transfer to Tam Quan, where you'll cycle along a beautiful route that takes you through rice paddies, salt flats, fishing villages, and mountainous areas. You'll have lunch at a local restaurant along the way.

After lunch, there will be a short transfer to ride along Cat Tien to Thi Nai Lagoon. We will conclude the day with a 30-minute transfer to our overnight accommodation at a four-star hotel in Quy Nhon beach city.

In the morning, you will be transferred to Da Dia Beach. We will start by crossing a long wooden bridge that is about 1 kilometer long, then ride through remote villages featuring fish farms, shrimp farms, and rice fields along a well-maintained road that runs alongside the tracks. We may have a local lunch at O Loan Lagoon, and afterward, the rest of the journey will be by vehicle.

In the afternoon, you’ll cycle through both uphill and downhill sections along the stunning coastline of Phu Yen, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Vũng Rô, the beautiful Lighthouse, and one of the most picturesque panoramas of the lobster floating village. We will wrap up our cycling day with a 2-hour and 15-minute drive to an overnight stay at a 5-star hotel in Nha Trang.

We will challenge ourselves with a 33-kilometer uphill cycle, followed by a rocky and rolling ride along the pine tree-lined path, descending from an altitude of 1,690 meters to the city of Da Lat, located at 1,500 meters. We will venture onto some gentle hills, passing by beautiful flower farms, vegetable farms, and local coffee shops, where you can take in the expansive views of the green landscape of the valley.
