Welcome to Vietnam By Bike! I am Mr. Thanh Ut. Long before orchestrating cross-country cycling expeditions across Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand, my journey started amidst the waterways, winding dirt paths, and lush fruit orchards of the peaceful Mekong Delta. Growing up surrounded by authentic river life taught me the true value of southern Vietnamese warmth, simplicity, and sincere hospitality.

2005: A Saigon Dream & The Tour Guide Calling in 2006

In 2005, driven by a deep fascination with world cultures and a burning desire to work in travel and tourism, I packed my bag and moved to Ho Chi Minh City. The energy of Saigon was intoxicating, but my goal remained crystal clear: to bridge the gap between curious global travelers and the hidden, authentic beauty of my homeland.

By 2006, I took the leap and received my certification as a professional tour guide. Guiding was never just a job for me—it was a calling. Over the next decade, I traversed every corner of Vietnam on foot, on riverboats, and most importantly, on bicycle pedals. Along the way, I had the privilege of serving as a senior tourism specialist and destination consultant for leading travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, fine-tuning route logistics, safety standards, and bespoke hospitality.

2017: The Birth of Vietnam By Bike

Years on the trail taught me an undeniable truth: tour buses show you the sights through a sealed pane of glass, but a bicycle lets you feel the soul of a country. On two wheels, you smell the wild blooming lotus, hear the village children calling "Hello!" across the rice fields, and taste home-cooked meals prepared in rural kitchens.

In 2017, channelizing over a decade of hands-on expertise, I founded Vietnam By Bike. My mission was simple yet ambitious: build a specialized active-travel operator that delivers professional, safety-first, and deeply immersive cycling adventures that leave a positive footprint on local communities.

Working Behind the Screen for Family and Global Friends

After spending countless years under the tropical sun leading pelotons, I made the conscious decision to step back behind the screen. This strategic shift allows me to dedicate quality time to my beloved lady and family, while directing our company's operations, fleet maintenance, and route design with undivided precision.

From behind the scenes at our Ho Chi Minh City headquarters, I work every single day alongside our team of passionate guides, bike mechanics, and support drivers. My heartfelt wish is that every international friend joining our tours enjoys a seamlessly organized, safe, and truly in-depth holiday by bike.
